Local hockey enthusiasts Matt Winthrop and Matt Stathopoulos talk high school, college and professional hockey in and around Rochester, NY.

Matt is a 2014 graduate of The College at Brockport State University of New York with a degree in Journalism and Broadcasting. While at Brockport, Matt was a member of the college radio station, WBSU 89.1 The Point, where he held positions such as Sports Director, Program Director and Operations Manager. Matt was the play-by-play broadcaster of high school hockey for the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons while at The Point. He was also play by play for the Brockport Golden Eagles hockey team for the 2013-2014 season, winning the radio station's award for best sports broadcast team. He also covered numerous local sporting events ranging from local high school and college teams, to local pro teams such as the Rochester Americans, Rochester Knighthawks and Rochester Red Wings. He lives in Chili, NY and works at iHeartMedia Rochester where he is a producer and host of Rochester Americans broadcasts on Fox Sports 1280. Matt is also the lead play-by-play for high school hockey games televised on WBGT - My 18 Sports.
Matt is a 2013 graduate of the State University of New York College at Brockport with a degree in Media Production and Sport Management concentration. He has had internships with the Rochester Americans, Rochester Red Wings, and Youngstown Phantoms over the last few years. Additionally, he served as the Public Address Announcer at Monroe Community College for the school's basketball, soccer, and hockey teams. During the 2012-13 hockey season, he served as the play-by-play announcer for Brockport Golden Eagles hockey on WBSU 89.1 The Point. Additionally at The Point, he covered local college hockey teams, including Canisius College and Niagara University. He currently resides in Henrietta, NY and works full-time for the Rochester Knighthawks.
